The government of Pattaya Prefecture (Rayong) in Thailand recently launched a special operation, raiding a gambling den hidden inside a billiard hall and arresting 50 individuals involved in gambling on the spot. However, when these suspects were taken to Saphan Klang Police Station for processing, the number of suspects registered suddenly dropped to only 15, raising strong doubts from the public.
Raid Operation: Gambling in a Secret VIP Room, Police Arrest on the Spot
Pattaya Prefecture Governor Traipob Wongtrairat received a report and ordered the special operations team to raid the gambling den located in the Klaeng district, Wang Wa town, at a billiard hall disguised as "Rang Online Snooker Club". The den was conducting illegal dice gambling in a VIP room.
Raid Details:
The special operations team sealed all exits and forcibly entered the VIP room, finding 50 gamblers (mixed gender) intensely gambling.
The gamblers attempted to scatter and flee, but were controlled on the spot by the police, who took photos and videos as evidence.
Seized gambling equipment included dice cups, gambling tables, cash, mobile phones, etc.
Subsequently, the police transferred the 50 suspects to Saphan Klang Police Station for further processing.
Mysterious Disappearance of Suspects? Only 15 Registered at the Police Station
However, after the case entered the police procedure, the situation became unusual:
After handing over the suspects, the special operations team suddenly received a notification from local administrative officials, asking them to withdraw and let the Klaeng district administrative department and Saphan Klang Police Station handle the case themselves.
In the end, only 15 suspects were registered, with 8 accused of illegal card playing and 7 accused of dice gambling.
Many Doubts:
The behind-the-scenes boss "Rang" of the gambling den was not arrested, despite multiple reports from local residents.
Some local politicians, village heads, and community leaders suspected of participating in gambling were not listed among the suspects
Governor Orders Thorough Investigation: No Bail for Involved Parties
Governor Traipob expressed shock and has instructed:
The administrative head of Klaeng district and the chief of Saphan Klang Police Station to submit a detailed report explaining why the number of suspects drastically decreased.
A special investigation committee has been established to investigate whether law enforcement officers are covering up the gambling den or involved in corrupt transactions.
All involved gamblers are prohibited from bail to ensure the case is handled according to law.
Traipob emphasized: If officials are found involved, strict disciplinary actions will be taken, and illegal activities will not be tolerated.
