In the first two months of the year 2025, more than 30 million accesses to illegal betting sites, supposedly blocked by the government, were recorded in Brazil. Despite representing less than 1% of the total 2 billion accesses to the legal market during the period, these platforms moved about R$ 350 million, according to an estimate by Aposta Legal.
This amount is three times higher than the national box office of the movie "Ainda Estou Aqui". The Oscar winner for Best International Film grossed about R$ 117 million in the country.
The champions of illegal accesses
Among the most accessed blocked bets, the site Flashscore.com.br leads by far, with 24.4 million accesses in Brazil between January and February — a number that alone accounts for 80% of the total accesses to blocked platforms. Following are Bingo em Casa (3.2 million) and BC.Game (1.4 million).
Search engine helps identify illegal sites
The numbers of accesses to illegal bets expose the complexity of monitoring a digital market in constant mutation.
From 2024 until February 2025, the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA), linked to the Ministry of Finance, determined the blocking of more than 10,000 domains considered irregular.
Even so, it is common for these platforms, even being illegal, to resort to mechanisms such as changing servers to continue operating, circumventing the blocks imposed by the authorities.
To help bettors have more security, Aposta Legal has an exclusive search engine for blocked bets, where it is possible to search among more than 10,000 domains.
Founded in 2019, Aposta Legal is a platform dedicated to providing reliable and impartial information about sports betting and online casinos. The goal is to promote responsible and recreational gambling, offering quality content for bettors in Brazil and other countries.
