Representatives of the initiative provided ophthalmological care to the cities of Oberá and Puerto Leoni.
Argentina.- Following the launch of a new edition of the Look Better program by the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC Misiones), which brings ophthalmological care to the community, the agency continues to tour the various localities of the Argentine province. The town of Alba Posse was the first destination of the year and the operations continued in Oberá and Puerto Leoni.
The program, governed and coordinated by the IPLyC, reached the town of Oberá, located 96 km from the city of Posadas, where it recorded a high demand for comprehensive ophthalmological care. During the day, specialists attended to residents who approached School Number 926.
The president of the IPLyC, Héctor Rojas Decut, noted that “in this operation in Oberá we surveyed a high demand. We know how important this is for our neighbors, so we continue working to bring solutions. We will be back soon so that more people from Oberá can access the care and glasses they need”.
Furthermore, he highlighted: “In addition to providing a concrete solution that is immediately visible, we change the life of each Misionero with this proposal that generated great acceptance and above all, a lot of joy”.
The tour of the program continued in the town of Puerto Leoni, 95 km northeast of Posadas, where 66 residents accessed the IPLyC initiative. Consultations about the state of the patients' vision marked the pulse of the day, which included a professional from the Ophthalmological Society of Misiones (SOMI).
Representatives of the Look Better program toured 21 municipalities of the province of Misiones, where more than 1500 people now have glasses and 1715 residents were provided care. This initiative tours a different commune each week, where there is no permanent ophthalmological professional.
