Argentina.- As part of their commitment to responsible gaming, the City of Buenos Aires Lottery (LOTBA) highlighted the importance of their self-exclusion system, stating that they are the “first and only lottery in the country to offer an online self-exclusion system, for people suffering from gambling addiction”.
Through their LinkedIn account, LOTBA detailed how the tool works. Through the official lottery website, interested parties can register in the self-exclusion system. “Anyone can access the self-exclusion procedure quickly, safely, and digitally,” they emphasized.
Once the person is registered, legal gambling operators receive the information and are required to block their access both to physical and online gaming rooms.
“We have an identity validation service that guarantees data protection and the effectiveness of the process,” LOTBA assured, noting that self-exclusion is a simple way to set limits and take care of the relationship with gambling.
In February, LOTBA announced that it carries out recreational activities in various parks of the city, such as the Children's Park and the City Park, with the aim of promoting healthy gaming in children and adolescents. The initiative is carried out within the framework of the "Talking is Winning" campaign.
From LOTBA, they conveyed that through these spaces they seek to raise awareness about the responsible use of technology and the prevention of underage access to illegal online betting games. The initiative also highlights the importance of play as a tool for development, creativity, and entertainment. LOTBA invites families to participate in the meetings in the parks and talk with the little ones to raise awareness. "Because when we talk, we all win," they highlighted.
During the summer, the Lottery also developed its awareness campaign on responsible gaming in clubs and institutions. Together with the City of Buenos Aires Sports Secretariat, they visit clubs and institutions to continue raising awareness about the risks associated with illegal gambling, with a special focus on the prevention of child gambling addiction. Through playful activities, educational workshops, and informational materials, they support families and minors, promoting safer and healthier gaming habits.
