The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has announced the cancellation of Goldwin's gaming license, effective from March 13, 2025.
This decision, based on multiple provisions of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, revokes license number MGA/B2C/533/2018.
As part of this regulatory action, Goldwin must notify all players of the cancellation via email and prominently display this information on its website for 30 days.
The company must also direct players seeking to withdraw funds to the MGA ticketing system for assistance.
Furthermore, under Article 51 of the Gaming Act, Goldwin is required to settle all outstanding fees owed to the Authority within five business days after the effective date and immediately remove any references to MGA and the license from its materials.
It is noteworthy that this decision can be appealed under Article 43(1) of the Act.
This enforcement action was taken shortly after MGA updated its regulatory supervision methods for 2025 last month.
The agency's new framework emphasizes three key areas: risk-based resource allocation, enhanced collaboration, and proactive risk management.
The updated regulatory strategy aims to implement a more evidence-driven, outcome-focused model to address risk areas within the market.
