Taiwanese internet celebrity live streamer "A-You" was lured to Myanmar by an acquaintance in November 2024 and went missing until he recently managed to contact his family. However, he is still trapped in a local telecom park and has not yet escaped.
A-You's family revealed to the media that the planners who lured A-You were actually fellow Taiwanese. They first met online, then gradually guided A-You to go abroad. Right after landing, A-You was taken directly to a scam group base in Myawaddy, Myanmar, and was subsequently sold multiple times to different scam companies.
During his captivity, he was not only subjected to physical violence but was also forced to send voice messages to his family to assure them of his safety, thereby concealing his true situation.
According to the Global Anti-Scam Assistance Organization, there are still over 100 Taiwanese people imprisoned by scam groups in Myawaddy. If they can be rescued by the Myanmar military, they might be able to escape safely;
however, if they continue to stay in the park, they might have to wait for the next round of checks to be rescued. Although A-You has made contact with his family, he has not yet successfully escaped the dangerous situation. His family and related rescue organizations are actively seeking help, hoping to rescue him back to his country soon.
