The city of Danville is reaping the benefits of its partnership with Caesars Virginia, as gaming tax revenue continues to roll in. City leaders have responded to community inquiries about the allocation of these funds by launching a webpage detailing the city’s budget and investments.
City Councilman Lee Vogler emphasized the importance of transparency, stating, “Where’s all the money from the casino going? How’s it being invested back in the community? How’s it helping me?” He added, “I just felt that it was very important that we had one central location, easy to find on the website where somebody asked, and we can send them straight here. It will tell you where every dollar of it’s gone.”
