Entain has released the latest cricket betting statistics for the Indian Premier League (IPL), highlighting significant data on match engagement and betting participation.
Before the 2025 IPL season begins, Entain has published statistics clarifying the betting habits of cricket fans on its platform. Indeed, the IPL is the most popular cricket event on the annual calendar, accounting for about one-quarter of all cricket bets placed with Entain.
A closer look at the data—the operator reports that its highest betting participation comes from the UK, USA, South Africa, and Canada. However, this does not include data from the Indian market, as Entain currently does not operate in the country, thus data from the Indian market is presently unavailable.
Interestingly, during the 2024 IPL, in-play betting completely dominated the market—accounting for about 90% of Entain's bets, with pre-match betting making up the remaining 10%. Moreover, as expected, betting on match outcomes was the most popular betting market during the 2024 IPL among Entain players, representing 40.1% of the operator's overall betting traffic. This was followed by bets on the next match and team scores, which accounted for 14.6% and 11.8% of the betting traffic, respectively.
These statistics also reflect Entain's recently released data on tennis betting—where in-play betting also accounted for 90% of the operator's betting market.
It is worth noting that earlier this month, Entain released its FY24 financial report, which highlighted the annual revenue figures of 5.16 billion GBP (approximately 6.7 billion USD).
Currently, Entain is in a transition period, with former CEO Gavin Isaacs having abruptly resigned in February after just five months in office.
This was followed by further reshuffling of the company's executives, with the appointment of a new senior independent director and the resignation of two executives from Australia and New Zealand.
