Myanmar experienced a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.7 on the afternoon of the 28th, with severe shaking felt in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and Chiang Mai.
On the social platform X, many people shared videos of the earthquake, including large swings of picture frames on the walls of hotels, and even shoppers in department stores were frightened and fled, with a building under construction in Thailand collapsing as well.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that Myanmar experienced a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.7 on the afternoon of the 28th, with the epicenter near Sagaing Province. The earthquake had a depth of only 10 kilometers, causing noticeable shaking in Kunming and Dali in Yunnan Province, China, as well as in Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Thailand. The extent of the damage is still unclear.
