In the Philippines, as the government intensifies its efforts to crack down on scam centers, the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) has warned that some former employees of offshore gaming operators (POGO) have been found taking equipment from closed facilities.

At a press conference at Camp Crame on Tuesday, the PNP ACG stated that after the closure or sealing of online gaming sites, some employees took the opportunity to leave with equipment.

Lieutenant Valeriano Araneta, spokesperson for the Philippine National Police, noted, "We have discovered that some individuals who worked at these sites took equipment after the companies were shut down."

Currently, the police have not yet tallied the specific number of devices taken, but have increased monitoring of online platforms to prevent these devices from being used for illegal activities.

Araneta emphasized, "We will closely monitor the whereabouts of these devices and take action before they can be used for criminal activities."
