Leading Sports Technology Company

Sports data analytics company Sportradar is vigorously promoting its generative artificial intelligence and computer vision products to investors, suggesting the maximization of profits and AI-driven efficiency.

The company showcased several AI products on Investor Day. Sportradar's Chief Technology Officer Behshad Behzadi stated at the conference that the company's AI technology products are based on data and have been building this foundation for years.

"This is a rock-solid foundation. It has been optimized over the years to achieve this. Therefore, it is very difficult for others to compete, or the cost to reach this level is very high," Behzadi said.

Behzadi mentioned that their infrastructure is processing millions of data points in real-time and storing them to further enrich Sportradar's AI models and products.

"We are collecting match data, that is, ongoing betting data. For specific betting companies, we continuously optimize the odds in real-time based on their risk preferences and reliability," Behzadi explained.

Behzadi stated that the goal is to maximize the profits of operators by readjusting services. He mentioned that Sportradar's internal AI models would lead to an 11% increase in profits.

Sportradar Generative AI Brain

Behzadi also showcased what they call the "Sportradar Brain," a generative AI model.

Essentially, this model is connected to the data collected by the company and can perform tasks or queries related to sports and betting.

The group's Chief Technology Officer asked the AI model which three NBA teams had the highest probability of winning at the end of the first quarter in recent games. The model provided individual odds for each team and selected the team with the highest odds.

Sportradar's generative AI products can also write sports articles and add charts and graphics.

"We have shown it to some clients, and they are very excited, especially our media clients," Behzadi said.

Sportradar Computer Vision and AI Scripts

The company showcased computer vision software used for tracking live games, collecting, and storing data.

Sportradar stated that it is currently collecting data from more than half of the live games it covers.

"When a game is covered by computer vision, it is about 90% cheaper than using our data collectors," Behzadi said.

"The most important thing is not efficiency, but that we have obtained more than 100 times the data."

Sportradar also noted that it is using automated AI scripts to further develop its AI products.

The company stated that by 2028, artificial intelligence will increase the productivity and efficiency of its engineers by more than 50%.

Sportradar Forecasts 2027 Performance

This sports data analytics company predicts that its revenue will reach 1.7 billion euros (1.8 billion USD/1.4 billion GBP) in 2027, with an adjusted EBITDA of 450 million euros.

Sportradar reported in its annual results that its revenue was 1.1 billion euros (1.2 billion USD/927 million GBP), a year-on-year increase of 26%. The current profit was 34 million euros.

Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl commented on this forecast: "Sportradar occupies a unique central position in the sports ecosystem. With our leading scale, unparalleled global distribution network, and history of innovation, we are confident in maintaining strong momentum and creating tremendous value for our clients, partners, and shareholders."

In acquisition news, the company announced on March 19 a deal to acquire the IMG Arena business from Endeavor. In this transaction, Endeavor paid over 200 million USD to sell its sports data business division.
