On April 8, former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin publicly responded to rumors about "pressuring the ruling coalition parties to support the entertainment complex bill," clearly stating that these allegations are not true. He emphasized that he has not pressured any political party, but merely communicated with relevant individuals about the project based on his concern for the country's future development, without any coercion.

Thaksin pointed out that Thailand is currently facing several external economic challenges, especially the US tariffs on certain goods, which put pressure on the national economy. Therefore, the government has decided to postpone the review of the "Entertainment Venues Operation Bill" to prioritize more pressing economic issues.

Regarding the different voices within the ruling coalition, Thaksin stated that it is normal to have policy disagreements since the coalition includes multiple parties with diverse backgrounds. However, he believes that by maintaining communication and strengthening coordination, a consensus can eventually be reached. He also reiterated that the government will always adhere to democratic principles in policy-making and advancement, maintaining internal unity and avoiding forceful promotion.

In response to external doubts about "pre-determined licensees," Thaksin firmly denied these claims. He stated that all licenses and collaborations related to the "entertainment complex" project will be conducted through a strict public bidding process, supervised by an independent external committee throughout, ensuring a fair and transparent process, leaving no room for any form of power rent-seeking.

Thaksin also emphasized that the so-called "entertainment complex" is not a traditional casino. The project will integrate various cultural and tourism functions, including concert venues, sports facilities, theme parks, and high-end shopping centers, aiming to promote foreign direct investment, create job opportunities, increase national fiscal revenue, and bring new growth momentum to the Thai economy.

Thaksin's statement not only responded to social queries but also set the policy tone for the future direction and implementation of the project, releasing a positive signal of "law-abiding, transparent operation."
