The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) reported that the country's gaming industry's Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) for 2024 reached PHP 372.33 billion.
This represents a 30.52% increase from the PHP 285.27 billion recorded in 2023. The reported figures do not include the offshore gaming revenues, which were banned by the end of 2024.
Brick-and-mortar casinos remain the largest source of the total gaming revenue, generating PHP 201.83 billion, accounting for 54.20% of the total revenue. The electronic gaming and electronic bingo segments saw significant growth, with revenues increasing by 165.66% to PHP 154.51 billion, representing 41.51% of the total gaming revenue.
PAGCOR's total revenue also grew by 40.74%, from PHP 79.37 billion in 2023 to PHP 111.71 billion in 2024. Contributions to social projects increased by 37.61% to PHP 68.20 billion, and net income grew by 146% to PHP 16.76 billion. The corporation paid PHP 8.45 billion in cash dividends to the national government.
It is important to note: The increase in GGR is expected to impact the broader economy, including further investments, job creation, and providing more financing opportunities for public projects.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco stated: "This gaming revenue performance highlights the crucial role licensed casinos play in maintaining the growth momentum of the Philippine gaming industry.
"They remain our biggest revenue drivers and are a major source of funds for government social civic projects.
"With the expansion of the GGR base, we will see a stronger multiplier effect—more jobs, more investments, and more public funds for social projects.
"The Philippine gaming industry is not only growing but also evolving, and with it comes greater responsibilities and opportunities."
