On the morning of April 12, 2025, a robbery targeting foreign tourists occurred in Pattaya, a well-known tourist city in Thailand. A Chinese self-media personality is suspected to have been ambushed by two men, also believed to be Chinese, and was found lying on the street covered in wounds. The case has now drawn significant attention from the local police.
According to the Pattaya police, around 5:10 AM, a passerby reported finding a man lying on the roadside with severe facial injuries in Thep Prasit 6/1 alley, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. The police confirmed that the injured man was Li Hailong, a 37-year-old Chinese national who claimed to be an active content creator on the YouTube platform.
Li Hailong stated that he met two men who claimed to be Chinese nationals at a local entertainment venue that night. They struck up a conversation and invited him to leave with them in their car. Unexpectedly, after driving into a secluded alley, the two men suddenly attacked him, stole his mobile phone, and fled.
The police record at the scene showed that Li Hailong had severe facial injuries, bleeding lips, a bruised area around his right eye, and multiple abrasions on his body. Fortunately, a local female motorcyclist named Buayen discovered him and called the police in time. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The police have initiated an investigation and stated that they will review surveillance footage from around the scene to track down the identities and whereabouts of the two suspects. The investigation is further progressing.
