A human trafficking case disguised as "working abroad" was recently concluded by the Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office. A 20-year-old man surnamed Chen, along with others, lured four Taiwanese men to Thailand through a Telegram group, using "loan processing," "smuggling gold," and "working abroad" as bait. In reality, they sold them to a local scam park, and they were almost subjected to live organ harvesting.
The prosecutors charged Chen and three others under the Human Trafficking Prevention Act and other charges, seeking sentences of 5 to 8 years in prison.
Rescued at the last moment before departure, nearly lost his life abroad
On November 15, 2024, a young man A1 was recruited by someone with the Telegram nickname "Wanda International," originally planning to go to Thailand to process loans and "make some money on the side." At 10:34 AM, he met with a person D1 at the airport, who bought him a ticket for the VZ-567 flight to Bangkok that evening.
Fortunately, the Taoyuan City Investigation Bureau and the Criminal Investigation Bureau, following the prosecutor's orders, intercepted A1 before he could leave the country and attempted to arrest D1, who managed to escape. A1 later realized that he was nearly trafficked for organ removal, becoming a "piglet."
Loose Telegram organization structure but clear division of labor
According to the indictment, Chen and two others—a man surnamed Lu (nickname "Fortune from All Directions") and D1 (nicknames "Silver Treasure," "Smooth Sailing")—formed a loose network through Telegram for profit, deceiving citizens to leave the country and then handing them over to foreign buyers for control.
Chen: Responsible for recruiting on Telegram, packaging it as "loan processing" or "carrying gold" for quick money jobs.
Lu: Contacted buyers in Thailand, arranged the transfer process for the victims.
D1 and unidentified members: Arranged transportation abroad, sending the victims overseas.
Although the three did not form a traditional "gang," they cooperated throughout, forming a complete crime chain.
Four people were imprisoned and beaten, forced to engage in romance scams
The prosecutors found that as early as August 5, 2024, Chen, using the nickname "In a Moment," recruited four men to go "work" abroad. D1 accompanied them from Taoyuan Airport to Thailand and handed them over to the "Thai Chang Park" buyers.
Upon entering the park, they were immediately confined and beaten, forced to participate in romance scams targeting Europeans and Americans. Fortunately, two of them managed to seek help from their families, and the Chiayi police were notified to handle the situation.
Narrowly escaped live organ harvesting: Indictment reveals more horrifying details
Even more shocking, the prosecutors revealed that Chen and another man with the Telegram nickname "North-South International—Shuangjiang" had been planning organ trading since November 2023.
Victim B1, misled by the recruitment for a Hong Kong-funded company, went to Thailand. Chen and the buyer fell out over profit sharing, allowing B1 to escape back to his country. However, subsequent cases showed that the group continued to recruit Taiwanese citizens for "resale."
Prosecutors demand severe punishment: No remorse, confusing the investigation
The indictment stated that Chen, previously a missing person and homeless, denied everything after the crime and refused to disclose his accomplices. He even used the alias "Thai Xiao" to confuse the investigation, showing an arrogant attitude with no remorse.
According to the case files, Chen had instructed D1 to hand A1 over to an "organ buyer," expanding his criminal activities from fraud to organ trading, with serious implications.
The prosecutor denounced him: "Despite having a normal family and loving parents, he pushed innocent people into hell, an act that is utterly reprehensible." Therefore, the court is requested to impose a heavy sentence and continue detention to prevent collusion and escape.
