Data released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) shows that the state's gaming revenue in March was $574.5 million, with sports betting revenue down 40.7% year-over-year to $27.03 million.

In fact, compared to last year, the overall revenue increased by 3.6%. Overall, despite retail occupying a major part of the state's revenue, it saw an overall decline year-over-year, while the online gaming sector experienced growth.

Retail Gaming

Despite a year-over-year decrease of 2.4%, Pennsylvania's retail slot machine revenue in March still reached $222.5 million, making up the largest share of the state's gaming revenue. Additionally, retail table games revenue in March was $81.9 million, down 3.9% from the same period last year, while Video Gaming Terminals (VGT) revenue also slightly decreased by 0.64% to $3.7 million.

Breaking down these retail figures by casino location, Parx Casino in Bucks County had the highest slot machine revenue in Pennsylvania in March at $34.4 million, a slight increase of 0.19% compared to March 2024.

Looking at the retail table games sector, Wind Creek Bethlehem achieved the highest revenue in March with $23.4 million, an increase of 14.8%, while Hollywood Casino at Pennsylvania National Race Course also saw a significant year-over-year increase of 76.31% in table games revenue.

Online Gaming

Hollywood Casino at Pennsylvania National Race Course had the highest monthly retail and online gaming revenue, reaching $107.2 million, up 21.5% from March last year. Of this, $90.7 million came from iGaming games operated by the casino.

Overall, Pennsylvania's total online gaming revenue in March was $238.2 million, up 24.7% year-over-year. Online slots were the main source of revenue, with $179.5 million earned that month, followed by online table games and poker, which contributed $56.2 million and $2.6 million respectively.

Sports Betting

Regarding sports betting, the PGCB has confirmed that in March 2025, the total amount wagered by players in the state on sports betting was $842.9 million, a growth of 5.26% compared to the amount published in 2024.

However, in terms of total revenue, the state's sports betting industry only generated $27 million in revenue, a year-over-year decline of 40.7%.

It is worth noting that one of the key months on the American sports betting calendar, March Madness, often leads to inflated betting figures reported by states

In fact, the latest monthly report on Pennsylvania's gaming industry shows a rebound from a 4.3% year-over-year decline in February.

Nevertheless, the trend of declining retail revenue in the state continued into March.
