Data released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) shows that the state's gaming revenue in March was $574.5 million, with sports betting revenue down 40.7% year-over-year to $27.03 million.
In fact, compared to last year, the overall revenue increased by 3.6%. Overall, despite retail occupying a major part of the state's revenue, it saw an overall decline year-over-year, while the online gaming sector experienced growth.
Retail Gaming
Despite a year-over-year decrease of 2.4%, Pennsylvania's retail slot machine revenue in March still reached $222.5 million, making up the largest share of the state's gaming revenue. Additionally, retail table games revenue in March was $81.9 million, down 3.9% from the same period last year, while Video Gaming Terminals (VGT) revenue also slightly decreased by 0.64% to $3.7 million.
Breaking down these retail figures by casino location, Parx Casino in Bucks County had the highest slot machine revenue in Pennsylvania in March at $34.4 million, a slight increase of 0.19% compared to March 2024.
Looking at the retail table games sector, Wind Creek Bethlehem achieved the highest revenue in March with $23.4 million, an increase of 14.8%, while Hollywood Casino at Pennsylvania National Race Course also saw a significant year-over-year increase of 76.31% in table games revenue.
Online Gaming
Hollywood Casino at Pennsylvania National Race Course had the highest monthly retail and online gaming revenue, reaching $107.2 million, up 21.5% from March last year. Of this, $90.7 million came from iGaming games operated by the casino.
Overall, Pennsylvania's total online gaming revenue in March was $238.2 million, up 24.7% year-over-year. Online slots were the main source of revenue, with $179.5 million earned that month, followed by online table games and poker, which contributed $56.2 million and $2.6 million respectively.
Sports Betting
Regarding sports betting, the PGCB has confirmed that in March 2025, the total amount wagered by players in the state on sports betting was $842.9 million, a growth of 5.26% compared to the amount published in 2024.
However, in terms of total revenue, the state's sports betting industry only generated $27 million in revenue, a year-over-year decline of 40.7%.
