The CEO of Siam Park City and operator of Siam Amazing Park, Uthai Chai, stated that the company is highly interested in investing in integrated entertainment projects, but is still waiting for the government to submit the "Integrated Entertainment Venue Management Bill" to the parliament for review to clarify the content of the bill, as well as the government's policies, investment models, and regulations related to legal casinos.
Uthai Chai believes that it is necessary for Thailand to establish large-scale integrated entertainment projects to revitalize tourism and the national economy. Tourism is crucial for economic development, and creating new tourist attractions will attract more visitors to Thailand.
Currently, the tourism industry has not fully recovered, especially the Chinese tourist market, which is a major market for Thailand, has significantly decreased.
Therefore, the government and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) should review the pre-pandemic marketing strategies targeted at Chinese tourists and jointly develop measures to recover the Chinese market.
Although the National Tourism Authority has adjusted its strategy by developing high-quality tourist markets to compensate for losses, the tourism-related industries are mostly small and medium enterprises, and the mass market should not be ignored, which also fits the characteristics of Thailand's tourism industry.
The Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce for Real Estate, Design and Construction Trade Association and Honorary Chairman of the Housing Business Association, Isara, supports the government's investment in integrated entertainment projects and the promotion of legal casino construction to stimulate the economy, attract tourists, and increase national revenue. In addition, legalizing and regulating underground industries within a legal framework is beneficial for government management and taxation, and many countries around the world have implemented similar projects.
However, the advancement of the project needs to fully listen to the opinions of local residents and establish strict and comprehensive regulations, especially focusing on the social impacts that many people are concerned about.
As for suitable locations for development projects, Isara believes that state-owned land or tourist hotspots such as Bangkok and Phuket should be chosen.
