A brand-new PvP game that combines cryptocurrency betting with nostalgic arcade gameplay, Noodle.gg, has officially launched on the Solana blockchain. The game is based on the classic Snake gameplay, incorporating real money betting mechanisms, injecting new vitality into the Web3 gaming market.
Noodle.gg is seen as a crypto remake of Slither.io, launched by developer Alex Leiman on May 13, and quickly caught the attention of the Web3 gaming community. Players control a "snake" to devour others to grow, each "kill" earns the entrance fee of the opponent, but a failure results in the loss of all chips. This high-risk, high-reward mechanism becomes the core attraction for players.
Although still in the early testing phase, the game has attracted about 2,500 active accounts, with the total amount of Solana tokens ($SOL) bet surpassing $350,000.
Meme coin boost drives speculation and participation
Less than a day after the game's launch, Leiman released the contract address for the game-related meme-coin — $NOODLE/$SOL, quickly igniting market enthusiasm. Trading volume soared, with the market value briefly reaching $19 million, currently stable at about $5.07 million. Currently, more than 6,000 wallet addresses hold $NOODLE, and it is widely speculated to be used for native betting in the game.
The project was launched by Solana's startup platform Believeapp, whose native token $LAUNCHCOIN also surged from $1 million to $270 million in market value, with daily revenue reaching $6.3 million.
Leiman himself has been involved in developing several popular projects, such as RizzGPT and Astra, and is called an "outstanding builder" by the Believeapp team, with his developed products accumulating over 10 million downloads.
Community reactions are polarized: Innovation or replication?
The release of Noodle.gg has sparked heated discussions in the crypto gaming circle. Some players praise the game for preserving childhood memories while achieving "play to earn," calling it "nostalgic and exciting," with some players saying, "Winning money and being able to cash out directly is great."
However, there are voices questioning the lack of innovation in the game, essentially replicating the gameplay of Slither.io, merely adding a cryptocurrency betting element. "Is this really 'building,' or just a simple imitation?" one comment pointed out.
Double Zero co-founder Austin Federa said, "Everyone is playing chain games now, and this game does look really fun."
The crypto arcade game trend is intensifying
Noodle.gg is the latest example of the arcade-style chain game craze on the Solana network. As early as November 2024, another Solana-based PvP game $SOL Arena had already attracted market attention. Additionally, including the official "social credit tokenization" project launched by "Black Mirror," traditional entertainment concepts are being combined with Web3, continuously expanding this track.
