Century Casinos has entered into a long-term partnership with the renowned online gambling company BetMGM to jointly develop sports betting operations in Missouri, strategically positioning themselves ahead of the state's upcoming legal gambling market.
Under the agreement, Century Casinos will provide the necessary licenses for BetMGM to launch online and mobile sports betting platforms in Missouri. In return, BetMGM will pay Century a percentage of the net gambling revenue, with a minimum revenue guarantee clause included.
It is noteworthy that Century retains the autonomy to conduct offline physical sports betting, potentially expanding into the retail market in the future.
The Missouri sports betting market is expected to officially open on December 1, 2025. The state's Gaming Commission (MGC) has announced that it will start implementing relevant regulations from August 30, reserving two operational license slots for new entrants, with results expected to be announced on August 15.
Century Casinos' Co-CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger are highly optimistic about this partnership: "BetMGM is one of the leading online gambling brands globally, and partnering with them will help us fully leverage the potential of Missouri's gambling licenses, providing top-notch entertainment experiences for local players."
This collaboration marks a step towards the maturity of Missouri's sports betting market, attracting more leading brands to compete, benefiting both state revenue and consumer experience.
