A historic roundtable discussion on the "Legalization of Thailand's Entertainment Complexes" will be held on June 5, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bangkok, marking a significant step in the country's policy opening towards the gaming industry. Galaxy Entertainment, Melco Resorts, and Wynn Resorts, three major international integrated resort operators, will share the stage with representatives of the Thai opposition for the first time to engage in direct dialogue about the prospects and challenges of entertainment complexes.
This meeting, hosted by the gaming industry media, is Thailand's first high-end public forum focused on the legalization of Integrated Resorts (IR). The event not only attracts industry attention but also receives extensive coverage arrangements from mainstream media, expected to be broadcasted to the public through television, newspapers, and the internet.
The conference features a multi-tiered agenda: industry leaders will deliver keynote speeches in the morning, followed by two roundtable discussions in the afternoon involving both supporters and opponents. The event is open to audience questions, with guests including government officials, scholars, business leaders, and representatives of the opinion sector, aiming to foster a deep exchange of diverse viewpoints.
Confirmed high-profile attendees include: well-known Thai host Veenarat Laohapakakul, former president of Marina Bay Sands George Tanasijevich, Citibank's gaming research head George Choi, senior Singaporean lawyer Kok Keng Lau, as well as representatives from the three IR operators and Thai political and academic circles.
The organizers revealed that seven international integrated resort operators were invited, with Galaxy, Melco, and Wynn confirming their attendance. The organizing body specially thanked these three companies for demonstrating industry leadership and expressed respect to the five opposition representatives, stating that the meeting provides an "unprecedented platform for direct dialogue" for all parties involved.
The core goal of this roundtable meeting is to provide an educational, informative, and policy-referential discussion foundation for the future legislation and regulation of Thailand's entertainment complexes, aiming to achieve a more constructive consensus between the industry and society.
