Fennica Gaming, a subsidiary of Veikkaus, has recently obtained a gaming supplier license from the UAE Commercial Gambling Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), allowing it to provide its "Gaming as a Service" products to licensed operators within the UAE, further consolidating its global expansion strategy.
This move makes Fennica Gaming another significant international supplier to enter this emerging market, following Scientific Games, IGT, and Aristocrat. Currently, the company has expanded its gaming solutions to 15 countries across three continents and has also recently received a B2B operating license from the Greek Gambling Commission.
It is noteworthy that, according to recent reports, other suppliers that have been approved to enter the UAE market include Scientific Games, which will offer its lottery product line locally.
Timo Kiiskinen, Managing Director of Fennica Gaming, commented on this development: "Obtaining the GCGRA certification is a milestone for us. The UAE is a promising new market, and this license not only allows us to enter the Middle East for the first time but also provides us with opportunities to expand into new continents. The regularization of the gambling industry in the UAE began in July 2024, with The Game LLC becoming the first company to receive an official gambling license. Shortly thereafter, Wynn Resorts also obtained a license in October 2024, although it had already started construction on a ground casino hotel project in 2022.
Currently, international giants like Aristocrat, Novomatic, and IGT are also entering the market. Market analysis generally believes that the UAE's gambling industry has great development potential, and it is logical that many leading suppliers are entering the market.
