The case information system (SIPP) website of the Praya District Court on Lombok Island, Indonesia, recently experienced a temporary glitch, which was momentarily disrupted by gambling advertisement links in Google search results. The court announced that the technical issues have been resolved and the website functionality has been restored.
According to Antara News Agency, the incident was widely spread on social media, attracting public attention. Users temporarily saw online gambling advertisement links related to the court's website domain when searching for "SIPP Praya" on Google.
The court's public information officer, Ikhsan Suhariadi, confirmed that the incident was not due to a hacker attack or system breach. Preliminary investigations by the court's IT team indicated that the issue was caused by external advertisement redirections inserted in Google search results, while the website itself remained secure and operational through direct access.
"We found that the domain was not tampered with, and the system was not breached. It was just an unexpected advertisement redirection in the search path," Suhariadi pointed out.
The SIPP website is an important platform for the court to publish case schedules and judicial information to the public, and its core functions were not substantially disrupted.
The court's technical team promptly conducted cleanup operations to remove suspicious advertisement paths and verified the website's security integrity. Additionally, they will strengthen real-time monitoring mechanisms to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
Although the technical issue was quickly resolved, the court also acknowledged that such exposure related to gambling could potentially affect public trust in the judiciary. Currently, the SIPP website has resumed full functionality and is open for public access.
