The Philippine gaming regulatory body PAGCOR recently announced the total gaming revenue data for the first half of 2025, showing strong industry performance with total revenues reaching 214.75 billion Philippine pesos (approximately 3.74 billion US dollars), a 26% increase year-over-year. Among these, electronic gaming (including electronic gambling, electronic bingo, and bingo authorized operators) contributed 114.83 billion pesos, accounting for 53.5% of the total revenue, becoming the market leader for the first time. Licensed physical casinos generated revenues of 93.36 billion pesos, accounting for 43.5%; while revenues from PAGCOR-operated casinos contributed 6.56 billion pesos, accounting for 3.1%.
PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro H. Tengco emphasized that the regulatory body focuses not only on the growth of gaming revenues but also on industry responsibility and compliance: "We are committed to promoting industry expansion while ensuring that gaming activities meet responsible gaming standards and safeguard the public interest."
In addition, this week PAGCOR donated 30 million pesos in relief funds to the victims of the monsoon floods in Manila. To strengthen regulation, PAGCOR also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Advertising Standards Council (ASC), aiming to comprehensively clean up gambling advertisements during prime time and in public places, in order to reduce the prevalence of gambling and protect public health.
Tengco stated: "These measures are key components of our efforts to promote the healthy development of the industry, ensuring that online gambling continues to grow in a safe and regulated environment."
