Pollard Banknote Limited, a lottery and gaming supplier, recently announced that it has obtained an official supplier license from the General Commercial Gambling Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the UAE, officially allowing it to enter the rapidly developing gambling market in the country. This approval enables Pollard Banknote to offer its extensive range of lottery and gambling products to local operators in the UAE.
Since the launch of the UAE's first regulated lottery project in 2024, the country's gambling industry has remained active, with several international suppliers recently obtaining GCGRA licenses, indicating an accelerated development of the UAE's gambling market. This certification for Pollard Banknote follows its partnership with Premier Lotteries Ireland at the end of the year, further highlighting its global expansion strategy.
Doug Pollard, Co-CEO of Pollard Banknote, stated: "Obtaining this new license opens up vast market opportunities for us. Currently, the GCGRA official website shows that 14 gaming suppliers have been approved to enter the UAE market. Following the licenses obtained by Light & Wonder and Konami Gaming, the addition of Pollard Banknote further promotes industry activity.
It is worth mentioning that Hard Rock International recently announced the launch of a new hotel and residential development project in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, just a half-hour drive from the Wynn Al Marjan Island casino complex, which is expected to open in 2027, indicating that the region's gambling tourism landscape is rapidly expanding.
