Moon Active, which has generated over $6 billion in cumulative revenue from its hit game "Coin Master," has launched a new product, "Coin Master - Board Adventure," currently in testing on the iOS platform in the Philippines.
This new game adopts a gameplay similar to Monopoly Go, retains the familiar UI interface and event design of "Coin Master," but replaces the original slot machine mechanism with dice-rolling for a Monopoly-style map adventure. The graphic style has also shifted from 3D to a more refined 2D presentation.
The overall experience does not bring revolutionary changes; the game pace remains smooth, and the core gameplay is highly similar to the original. Industry insiders speculate that Moon Active's move may be aimed at leveraging the large existing player base of "Coin Master" to channel users to the new game, helping the new product quickly accumulate popularity and performance data.
Although the gameplay and visuals have been adjusted, whether it can effectively attract a large number of new users is still uncertain, and it may more likely serve as a strategy to solidify the brand's moat and extend the lifecycle of "Coin Master."
For veteran players, the new game offers more refined visuals and the dice-rolling gameplay brings a different sense of anticipation, attracting some players to try it out, thus adding freshness and fun to the game.
