Recently, the police in Chonburi Province, Thailand, successfully cracked down on an illegal casino operated by foreigners following complaints from villagers. The villagers had repeatedly reported that a large number of vehicles were blocking the roads and leaving trash, severely disrupting daily life.
Under the command of Major General Panumas Boonyalak, the director of the Immigration Bureau, multiple departments jointly conducted a surprise inspection on a residence without a house number in Nong Prue town. The residence featured a bungalow with a swimming pool over 50 square meters. During the inspection, several foreign nationals attempted to flee but were eventually apprehended. The police arrested a total of 9 people, including 5 Chinese men, 3 Korean men, and 1 Korean woman.
At the scene, multiple poker tables, about 1 million Thai baht in cash, a large number of gambling chips, poker cards, and a money counting machine were seized. All suspects were detained for questioning, and the seized items were confiscated as evidence.
The police initially charged the suspects with "conspiring to organize illegal gambling for profit," with some also involved in issues related to expired residence permits in Thailand. All suspects have now been transferred to the Nong Prue Police Station, and the case is being further processed.
