Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz has renewed its exclusive partnership with EPG Baskets Koblenz for the 2025/26 season, continuing the collaboration that began in 2020.
As the basketball club participates in the second edition of the German Basketball Bundesliga's professional A division, the German national lottery operator will continue to serve as its sponsor.
The partnership has evolved with the club's development, initially supporting the EPG Baskets at the ProB level, and subsequently supporting their achievement of ProA status in 2023.
Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz maintains visibility through jersey front positions, LED billboards, and on-site branding at the EPG Arena.
Discussing the extension of this partnership, Jürgen Häfner, Managing Director of Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz, stated: "The cooperation between Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz and Koblenz EPG Baskets is exemplary.
"As a company that closely integrates sports with the state in its shareholder structure, we are delighted to collaborate with 160 sports clubs in Rhineland-Palatinate and actively promote our company and its role as a solid pillar of public interest.
"The EPG basketball team has shown remarkable development in recent years, thanks to their excellent team spirit, enthusiasm, and unity. Their outstanding performance as a second division team and their firm commitment to the region set an example of team spirit and sustainable development."
Thomas Klein, Director of Sports and Marketing at EPG Baskets Koblenz, also commented on this development, noting that since the team's "15-20 Mission" plan was initiated in 2013, Lotto's involvement has significantly increased, indicating growing confidence in the basketball club's developmental trajectory.
It is worth noting that in 2024, Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz generated approximately 156 million euros ($182.8 million) in revenue for charitable projects.
The extension of this partnership coincides with Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz's broader modernization efforts, including an agreement with Scientific Games to upgrade the terminal technology of its retail network.
This five-year contract, announced in September 2024, will install camera-based Contour.v terminals, aimed at integrating retail and digital sales channels.
