Online casinos continue to dominate the market, with revenue reaching 216.4 million euros, accounting for 52.7% of total revenue, a year-on-year increase of 26.0%. Growth mainly came from slot machine projects, whose revenue increased by 33.6%. Sports betting revenue grew by 18.2%, reaching 171.4 million euros, accounting for 41.8% of total revenue. Online poker revenue was 19.1 million euros, down 25.2% year-on-year; bingo game revenue exceeded 3.4 million euros, down 6.4% year-on-year.
Regulatory Environment and Operator Status
As of the end of the second quarter, Spain had 77 licensed gambling operators, 64 of which held valid licenses during this quarter. Specifically, this includes: 52 providing online casino games, 42 offering sports betting, 9 offering poker games, 4 offering bingo games, and 2 offering competition services. DGOJ also reported a new classification of gambling as "competition," but stated that related revenue is currently "very limited."
