The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has prohibited four companies from operating in Sweden without the required licenses. The affected companies include Itsfail Ltd, Teamfail Limited, NewEra BV, and Jer-Team NV.
It has been found that Itsfail Ltd and Teamfail Limited offer games where players can win or lose "skins" - collectibles in popular computer games that can often be exchanged for money outside of the game.
Such websites are unable to obtain a Swedish gambling license and usually lack proper age verification measures.
The strategy of the Swedish Gambling Authority emphasizes ensuring that gambling activities are conducted through operators holding a Swedish license.
Therefore, this latest action is part of the Authority's ongoing efforts to regulate the market and protect Swedish players from unlicensed operators.
Several similar cases have occurred in recent weeks.
For example, the Swedish Gambling Authority has prohibited MRSL NV from offering games to Swedish players without the necessary license.
This decision has added MRSL NV to the list of operators banned in Sweden for violating Swedish regulations, a list that continues to grow and includes Equinox Dynamic, Alpha Interactive Solutions, and Nero Media among others.
In addition to the outright bans, the agency has also issued several fines recently.
Kanon Gaming was fined 7 million Swedish Kronor (USD 668,000) for multiple violations, including insufficient protective measures for players showing signs of excessive gambling.
