The Archbishop of Ethiopia, Samuel Yohannes, and the Chief Philanthropy Officer of the SiGMA Foundation, Keith Marshall, visited the headquarters in Msida, Malta, to address the staff of SiGMA.

Marshall shared the latest updates on the fundraising efforts of the SiGMA Foundation. He discussed various fundraising exploratory activities recently organized by the SiGMA Foundation.

Marshall also added that the SiGMA Foundation has raised a significant amount of funds in the past and has built several schools in Africa. He has been collaborating with Father Samuel Yohannes since 2017.

Children's Education in Jimma Bonga

Earlier this year, the SiGMA Foundation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a tri-level school in the Jimma Bonga diocese of Ethiopia. This school includes a kindergarten, elementary, and middle school, and the project provides food and education for a thousand Ethiopian children. Over three years, the SiGMA Foundation organized several Camino de Santiago adventure challenges that raised 300,000 euros in support for this project.

Ethiopia, a Land of Challenges and Trials

The SiGMA Foundation includes members from all walks of life working together. We gather these people together, forming a system where everyone works harmoniously and provides equal opportunities for those less fortunate. He stated that sharing information and raising awareness about the work of the SiGMA Foundation is crucial.

Empowering Women and Girls

Father Sam Yohannes addressed everyone, expressing gratitude for the hard work of the SiGMA Foundation and its contributions to the impoverished area. "Children are indeed vulnerable," he said, "I have been collaborating with the SiGMA Foundation since 2017, and one of the projects I am now involved in aims to create job opportunities for women and girls in Ethiopia. This will undoubtedly help improve their living standards."

The SiGMA Foundation is committed to empowering women, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills for long-term employment and financial independence, ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty in the region. The project is expected to directly affect 500 women aged 20 to 45 annually, who are the primary beneficiaries.

Additionally, the project will indirectly benefit over 2500 community members in the Bonga area each year. Overall, 75% of the beneficiaries of the project are women, with the remaining 25% being men; the women's empowerment project requires a total investment estimated at 710,322 euros.

To achieve this goal, the foundation is planning a series of fundraising events and will collaborate with partners who share a positive vision.

The SiGMA Foundation is collaborating with the Jimma Bonga diocese in Ethiopia on a women's empowerment project to promote positive changes in the lives of impoverished women in the region. The purpose of this project is to establish a modern skill development center offering training in information technology, cooking, hairdressing, tailoring, and embroidery.
