SOFTSWISS Co-CEO Andrey Starovoitov expressed encouragement about the direction of gambling regulation in Brazil: "We believe Brazil is a very promising region, and we are encouraged by the progress in local regulation and the active efforts by local authorities to refine and strengthen the existing legal framework."
Their casino platform and sports betting are undergoing the certification process to enter the market,
Last year, the igaming technology provider obtained GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications, laying a solid foundation for meeting Brazilian regulatory requirements.
However, as the Brazilian government has already established specific standards, SOFTSWISS consulted with certification laboratories to identify key areas, including player registration, Know Your Customer (KYC) agreements, and responsible gambling practices.
Regarding registration, players must provide a CPF number (Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry Number), which is verified by the system to prevent users from creating multiple accounts and to ensure accurate personal information is provided, reducing the risk of fraud.
SOFTSWISS noted that this measure will help prevent underage gambling, protect self-excluded individuals, prevent operators from abusing bonuses through account multiplicity, and enable the government to monitor the tax compliance of bonuses.
As for KYC, the igaming technology company stated that Brazil could implement activity checks for additional customer verification, "which requires technical upgrades for most existing platforms," while also ensuring "higher security and compliance."
Regarding responsible gambling, SOFTSWISS pointed out that Brazilian market regulators are developing comprehensive requirements to help players control their gaming. Platforms must have seamlessly integrated features to protect users and promote a safe gambling environment.
Starovoitov added, "The stringent requirements for gambling software emphasize responsible gambling and public protection, with regulators aiming to effectively balance these interests with commercial interests."
"Clearly, the Brazilian government is working hard to maintain the attractiveness of white labels in this market, ensuring that both operators and participants can enjoy a healthy environment."
