Betsson, Galera.bet, and F12.bet joined the ranks of Betano and Rei do Pitaco this week, who submitted their applications in May and July respectively.
Swedish operator Betsson entered the Brazilian market in 2019 by acquiring 75% of the Brazilian sports betting operator Suaposta. Betsson has invested heavily in Brazil—during the second quarter, Latin America accounted for 23% of the operator's regulated revenue.
Betsson's managing partner in Brazil, Andre Gelfi, previously told iGB: "I think we have the potential to enter the Brazilian market faster than the big brands. We have a great product, and we are a respected brand. I believe reputation is an important aspect in our industry."
Galera.bet has been operating in Brazil since 2022. This local brand joined the International Betting Integrity Association in August 2023.
Lisbon-based F12 launched their betting product in Brazil in 2021.
IBIA predicts that by 2028, the turnover of the Brazilian betting industry could reach USD 34 billion (GBP 26.8 billion/EUR 31.1 billion).
Last week, the Treasury's Bonus and Betting Secretariat (SPA) issued the final regulations, detailing national contributions, monitoring and inspection, responsible gambling, and sanctions for operators.
