The police in Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam, announced that they have coordinated with the Lao Ministry of Security's Human Trafficking Division to successfully rescue 13 Vietnamese victims who were deceived into going to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos.
Previously, the Criminal Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police had led and collaborated with domestic and international authorities to dismantle a large international criminal organization located in the Golden Triangle Economic Zone, which had defrauded 155 Vietnamese people through online scams.
In subsequent investigations, authorities discovered that the criminal organization not only committed fraud but also forced a large number of Vietnamese to go to the Golden Triangle area to work and participate in criminal activities.
In response, the Ha Tinh provincial police urgently coordinated with the Lao Ministry of Security to successfully rescue 13 victims and safely bring them back.
As of now, the two-phase operation has arrested 162 suspects and successfully rescued 36 victims related to human trafficking activities from Laos to Vietnam.
