The Philippine National Police (PNP) stated on Friday (September 6) that it is unclear whether the dismissed mayor of Tarlac City, Guo Huaping, has committed to revealing more details about her case.
"I have no relevant information about whether there are disclosures, and we have not had a personal conversation with her. I am also not qualified to inquire about Guo Huaping, as there are corresponding procedures," Colonel Fahardo, PNP spokesperson, told reporters at a press conference.
"I have no information indicating whether Guo Huaping has made such a commitment," she added.
Fahardo mentioned that PNP Chief Romel Mabil and Minister of Local Government Benhur Abalos are both encouraging Guo to disclose this information.
According to Fahardo, this information might involve the situation of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) facilities in Tarlac City and Pampanga's Porac.
However, Fahardo pointed out that there are appropriate parliamentary bodies to handle these disclosures.
"If the information she intends to reveal or disclose can clarify her involvement and limitations in the illegal POGO operations in Tarlac City and Pampanga's Porac, then there is an appropriate forum to discuss and reveal all the helpful information she knows," she added.
Fahardo stated that Guo returned to the PNP detention center at 2:12 PM after the Court 109 in the Tarlac Bangkapas region approved her request.
Furthermore, Guo's team has also decided not to post bail temporarily.
On Friday morning, Guo was taken to the Tarlac Bangkapas regional court to comply with the arrest warrant issued by the court on Thursday.
Guo left Camp Crame at 9:40 AM, arrived at the Tarlac court after 11 AM, and left the court after 12 PM to return to the PNP detention center.
Senate guard Roberto Ancan stated that the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality needs to request the court's permission for Guo to attend the continuation of the investigation into the former mayor's alleged involvement in POGO operations on Monday.
Senator Risa Hontiveros, chair of the Senate committee, has already written to Chief Justice Sarah Vidania-Delos Santos of Court 109 in the Tarlac Bangkapas region, requesting the court to allow Guo to attend the continued hearing of the Senate investigation.
Hontiveros previously insisted that the Senate should take over Guo's detention, noting that her arrest was due to an arrest warrant issued by the upper house in July.
She pointed out that the Senate's arrest warrant was issued before the Tarlac court's arrest warrant.
Guo was arrested early Wednesday morning in Tangerang City, Indonesia, and arrived in the Philippines early Friday morning.
