A Band has become the first TV broadcaster to receive government authorization to operate a betting house in Brazil. BandBet was officially listed as legalized by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF). The website went live on Friday (10/4) and positions itself as an innovative brand in the sports betting market.
Entry into the betting market
The platform is operated by Bell Ventures Digital, the same company responsible for Viva Sorte.
According to the official description, the company aims not only to increase sports fans' engagement but also to contribute to the development of the betting sector in Brazil.
The brand carries the name of Band, a broadcaster with 87 years of history, which reinforces its reliability.
Competition in the sector
Other broadcasters, such as Globo and SBT, also plan to enter this market. Globo has already announced a partnership with BetMGM for 2025, while SBT has registered the brand "Todos Querem Jogar" and plans to operate in 2024 in partnership with OpenBet.
Neither of them appears on the SPA-MF list as companies authorized to operate in the country, but it is worth noting that the list only covers bets that are already in operation or about to enter the market.
