Two seminars on the sports betting and online gaming market will take place in São Paulo this week, supported by the National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL). Both will feature panels moderated by the association's president, Plínio Lemos Jorge, and are expected to include the presence of the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, the Secretary of Prizes and Betting, Regis Dudena, and the president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, among others.
The first, this Tuesday (15), will be the "Betting in Brazil – for a worthy regulation of games and bets". The event will be held by ANJL and the Institute for the Reform of State and Business Relations (IREE), at the Rosewood Hotel, in São Paulo.
The participation of various public and private sector representatives involved in the country's regulatory process is expected, such as the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the Secretary of Prizes and Betting, Regis Dudena.
Plínio will be the moderator of the panel "The supervision of bets: foreign exchange evasion, money laundering, and organized crime". The debaters will be the Director-General of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues; the Criminal Law Professor at USP, Pierpaolo Bottini; and the lawyers Antônio Carlos de Almeida Castro and Tiago Gomes.
The event will take place from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and is restricted to invitees. The lectures and debates will be available from October 17 on the IREETV channel on YouTube.
On Friday (18), Casa LIDE (in São Paulo) will host, with the support of ANJL, the seminar "The impact of the legalization of games and casinos for Brazil". The president of ANJL will be a moderator, alongside journalist Carlos Marques, in the panel "Can games and casinos contribute to the development of Brazilian sports and culture?".
The panel will feature the participation of the president of the National Council of Advertising Self-Regulation (Conar), Sérgio Pompilio, and the president of the State Lottery of Rio de Janeiro (Loterj), Hazenclever Cançado, among other participants.
The meeting will be from 8 AM to 12 PM and the registration link, to follow online, will only be available on the day of the event. It will be broadcasted at aovivo.lide.com.br. In person, there will be registration from 8 AM to 8:30 AM at Casa Lide (Av. Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 2277 - 11th floor).
"These will be important debates at this crucial moment that the sector is experiencing, less than three months before the start of the regulated market in Brazil. We are certain that the main players will follow both events", declared Plínio Lemos Jorge.
