In an emotional ceremony held in Guayaquil, the Junta de Beneficencia paid tribute to the doctors from Project Perfect World and Dr. Roberto Gilbert Children's Hospital, who for more than two decades have tirelessly worked for the benefit of thousands of Ecuadorian children.
Thanks to their experience, altruism, and dedication, more than 4000 children have regained mobility and significantly improved their quality of life through high-specialty medical interventions. Since its arrival in Ecuador, the mission of Project Perfect World has been to improve child health globally through quality medical interventions, mentoring for local doctors, and infrastructure development.
During the event, the Junta de Beneficencia awarded recognitions to Dr. Richard M. Schwend, medical director of the mission, and to the volunteer doctors who are part of the international team, as well as to the doctors from Guayaquil involved in this humanitarian effort. The U.S. Consul General, Erik Martini, was also present, highlighting the collaboration between both nations for the benefit of child health.
Juan Xavier Cordovez, director of the Junta de Beneficencia, praised the dedication and commitment of the doctors, reiterating the institution's commitment to continue working for the benefit of those most in need.
