Argentina.- The team from the Responsible Gaming program of the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC Misiones) continues to carry out activities in different educational institutions of the Argentine province. Recently, they provided talks on addiction prevention at schools in Oberá, Posadas, and Alba Posse.
Representatives from IPLyC Misiones visited the National College Amadeo Bonpland, in Oberá, where they met with third and fourth-year students. Isabel Zilveti and Marisa Seewlad, program managers, stated that the goal was focused on enabling the youth to reflect and contribute their views on how behavioral addictions manifest, in order to promote critical thinking at the time of making life choices that affect health.
Furthermore, the team gave a talk to over a hundred first and second-year students at the Secondary School of Innovation, in Posadas. There, they focused on addiction to screens and online betting games in teenagers, as well as the role of social networks and content.
Later, the IPLyC Misiones team traveled to Colonia 9 De Julio, in the municipality of Alba Posse, where they gave a talk to sixth and seventh graders at School Number 297. According to the program managers, it was a dynamic meeting where "a group dialogue was generated on the importance of being empathetic and helping those in need, as a way to prevent someone else from harming themselves, learning to take care of ourselves and others." At the Provincial Oriented Baccalaureate (BOP) Number 78, meanwhile, a talk was held with all high school students.
Last month, the Responsible Gaming team conducted a day of talks on addiction prevention with students from the town of Panambí.
