The gaming regulatory body of La Pampa developed a literature contest.
Argentina.- The United Nations (UN) established October 1st as the "International Day of Older Persons" and, in this context, the Financial Assistance Directorate for Social Action (DAFAS) of La Pampa carried out various activities throughout the past month.
Under the name "October, Month of the Elderly", the regulatory body of the Pampean gaming organized the art contest Story Contest "Landscapes of La Pampa", intended only for people over 60 years old.
In its third edition, the contest had a record participation. The selected productions stood out for their creativity and emotionality under the theme: the beauty of the Pampean geography.
The awarded stories were:
-1st prize, of AR$100,000 (USD 110), plus a book by a Pampean author: Rodolfo Guillermo Giacinti (General Pico).
-2nd prize, of AR$70,000 (USD 71), plus a book by a Pampean author: Silvia Leonor Passo (General Pico).
-3rd prize, of AR$50,000 (USD 51), plus a book by a Pampean author: María del Carmen Moriñigo (Santa Rosa).
Special mentions were also awarded books by Pampean authors.

Dafas successfully passed a new audit conducted in September by the team from the Argentine Institute of Standardization and Certification (IRAM) and achieved the recertification of Normative Reference No. 19 IRAM – ALEA.
