Sportradar has signed an agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB) to assist in scouting players for the league.
This collaboration will apply to all 30 clubs of Major League Baseball (MLB) and will allow them to utilize Sportradar's advanced proprietary technology to better assist them in analyzing the athletic performance of amateur baseball prospects.
Player event coverage will involve more than 20,000 games, including college, international, professional partner leagues, and leading amateur leagues.
The technology used is called the Synergy Coaching and Scouting Solution, which helps to extract data points from videos and transform them into detailed metrics, insights, and visualizations, aimed at simplifying the decision-making process for scouts within MLB.
Sportradar's Chief Commercial Officer Eduard Blonk stated: "Sportradar's cutting-edge technology and our reputation as a trusted partner of America's leading sports leagues are driving the transformation of sports performance analysis.
Good news: Gambling Insider attended Sportradar's marketing summit, Sportradar Connect, last month and will provide a full recap of the day in the upcoming issue of the magazine.
"We are excited to expand our relationship with MLB through Synergy, providing them with the in-depth data and insights needed to identify the next generation of players. We look forward to continuing to bring innovative solutions to MLB."
MLB's Senior Vice President of Amateur and Medical Operations, John D'Angelo, added: "We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Sportradar and ensure that all 30 MLB clubs have equal access to Synergy video and data services.
"This platform has become an essential resource in the domestic and international scouting processes for clubs, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Sportradar in the coming years."
Two weeks ago, Sportradar released a positive third-quarter report, which included growth in revenue, profit, and adjusted EBITDA.
