ONCE is now part of the Business Network for Diversity and Inclusion LGBTI (REDI), thus reinforcing its commitment to non-discrimination of any kind of talent to continue building a respectful, inclusive, fair, and diverse organization.
Jorge Íniguez, the general secretary of ONCE, was in charge of collecting the diploma of adherence to this ecosystem comprised of more than 290 companies and organizations with a common goal: to promote safe and respectful work environments for all people, regardless of their gender identity and expression or sexual orientation. The diploma was presented by the president of REDI, Borja Sainz, who congratulated the companies and organizations for the progress made in recent years in terms of visibility and normalization of LGBTI people and encouraged them to continue on this path, where there is still much to be done.
According to Eva Vilaplana, Head of CSR, Gender Equality, and Diversity at ONCE, “from the Organization, we celebrate this adherence to REDI which allows us to make our commitment to inclusion and non-discrimination visible”.
ONCE, as an inclusive organization, has a set of planned measures for equality and non-discrimination of LGBTI people, as well as a protocol for action against harassment towards this group. According to Eva Vilaplana, “some of the initiatives we are promoting, among others, are the creation of groups or internal networks of LGBTI workers and allies; the design of a protocol for accompaniment in trans processes and study on the feasibility of incorporating a new field of identification ‘felt/preferred name’, or the training and awareness of the entire staff on diversity and, in particular, on the LGBTI collective”.
The adherence to REDI offers advantages such as access to the portal of associated entities, training workshops, contacts, advice, documentation, and other resources. But, above all, it is a fundamental step that reinforces ONCE's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, strengthening visibility and collaboration in forums, events, exchange spaces for good practices, and learning with other networks and entities.
