Recently, Chinese police collaborated with law enforcement departments in Myanmar to arrest 1079 suspects involved in cross-border telecommunications network fraud in Danyang area for the first time, including 763 Chinese nationals. All Chinese suspects have now been handed over to the Chinese side.
The report states that this is another major breakthrough in the special operation against telecommunications network fraud involving China in northern Myanmar.
It is understood that since last year, when Chinese police launched the special operation against telecommunications network fraud involving China in northern Myanmar, the Chinese and Myanmar sides have captured more than 53,000 Chinese suspects through police cooperation and a series of crackdowns, and all large-scale telecom fraud parks near the border in northern Myanmar have been eradicated.
Under strong crackdowns and deterrence, fraudsters continue to move to deeper areas in Myanmar such as Wanhai, Danyang, and Myawaddy, continuing to recruit and lure domestic individuals to illegally go abroad to participate in telecom fraud, leading to serious violent crimes such as illegal detention, intentional injury, and even kidnapping and murder, severely endangering the safety of citizens and property of both countries.
The report indicates that the Chinese side attaches great importance to this issue, and in cooperation with local law enforcement departments in Myanmar, carried out a crackdown operation on November 17 in the Danyang area, capturing 763 Chinese suspects involved in fraud, including 69 fugitives, and seized a large number of crime tools such as computers, mobile phones, and fraud scripts.
On November 19, the suspects and related items were handed over to the Chinese side through the Yonghe Port in Lincang, Yunnan.
A responsible official from the Chinese police revealed that they will continue to maintain a strict and high-pressure stance against cross-border telecommunications network fraud, especially in fraud hotspots such as Wanhai, Danyang, and Myawaddy in Myanmar, and will further strengthen police cooperation to resolutely eradicate the "cancer" of telecommunications network fraud involving China.
At the same time, the public is reminded not to be deceived by high-paying job offers abroad, to avoid falling into illegal and criminal traps, and to effectively protect their legitimate rights and interests.
