They seek to maintain the current closing time for both gaming halls and bingos.

Spain.- Employees of the Union of Gaming Hall Workers (UTSAJU) Navarra positively valued that the Navarra Council has requested an explanation from the Government about the different treatment between gaming halls and bingos, as the measure proposed in the decree, expected to be approved in the coming days, will reduce the schedule by three hours less.

The Foral Decree Project regulates the General Regulation of Games and Betting of the Chartered Community of Navarra. In the document, on page 32, it states the following: “It is necessary to adequately justify the reduction by half an hour of the closing time of bingo halls and by three hours of the closing time of gaming halls and sports betting venues, in order to better assess their necessity and proportionality and, therefore, their proper conformity with legality”.

Carlos Alejandro Sola, spokesperson for UTSAJU of Navarra, indicated that “this regulatory reform has not been requested by anyone and its only consequence will be the dismissal of 100 Navarrese families.” From UTSAJU Navarra, concerned about the situation, sent letters to the president of the Government of Navarra, María Chivite, and to all parliamentary groups.

As a result of this communication, UPN (the main group in the chamber), Contigo Navarra (part of the regional government), PP, and VOX were willing to hold a meeting, which has already taken place, with the participation of the parliamentarians Marta Álvarez (UPN), Miguel Garrido (Contigo Navarra), Irene Royo (PP), and Emilio Jiménez (VOX).
