The head of the sports portfolio referred to the contributions of Law 14.790 and its impact on the country.
Brazil.- The Minister of Sports, André Fufuca, participated in the inauguration of the Summit CBF Academy 2024. The event, promoted by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), gathers in São Paulo the main personalities of Brazilian football and international teams from different areas of the sport to discuss the future of football management.
During the opening speech, the minister highlighted the actions that the Ministry of Sports has developed to ensure that football in Brazil continues to grow in a "fair, accessible, and inclusive" manner. He emphasized topics such as the Women's World Cup, initiatives like the Academy and Football program, competitions supported by the ministry, the fight against violence in football, and the regulation of sports betting.
"It is an honor to be here at the CBF Summit, such an important event, with leaders and experts from Brazilian football, to discuss the future of our sport and how we can contribute to its strengthening and evolution. Football is undoubtedly the greatest national passion, but it goes beyond competition: it is an agent of social transformation, inclusion, and unity," said Fufuca.
Regarding sports betting, the minister stated: "The regulations will allow stricter control, increasing transparency and protecting the rights of consumers and athletes. With a legalized and supervised system, we can guarantee legal security, improve tax collection, and preserve the credibility of our football."
"These measures are fundamental to maintaining public trust in the sport and ensuring that competitions continue to celebrate skill, effort, and dedication," added the minister.
This is not the first time that Fufuca has publicly supported Law 14.790, and in fact, just two weeks ago he had published a letter using the same concepts expressed in his participation in the event organized by the CBF.
