Generation of resources: the Medellín Lottery has transferred USD 25 million to the health sector so far this year.

Colombia.- The Medellín Lottery reported during its Accountability Report to the citizens that, as a result of this year's earnings up to November 8, which amount to COP 141.400m (USD 32m), more than COP 112.696m (USD 25m) have been transferred to the health of the people of Antioquia. Sixty-eight percent of these resources will go to the administrator of the subsidized regime, the Administrator of the Resources of the General System of Social Security in Health (ADRES); 25 percent to the departmental Health Secretary and 7 percent is allocated to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

“Our primary institutional objective, which is to generate more resources for health, has led us to make significant transfers of more than COP 112.000m in terms of permanent betting transfers or chance sales and transfers from the Medellín Lottery. And all these resources go to the health sector,” stated the manager of the Medellín Lottery, Octavio de Jesús Duque Jiménez.

In other reports from the accountability, they announced that the Medellín Lottery, as of September 30, delivered to the betting public prizes worth more than COP 70.744m (USD 16m), which represents 57.14 percent of the sales. Antioquia accounted for 56.13 percent of the total sales made by the Lottery throughout the country.

For 2025, the company aims to advance in the optimization of technological supports such as a new App, a new web portal, which will allow not only to improve customer service but also to promote legality in the games of Luck and Chance in the department to contribute more resources for the health of the people of Antioquia.

Beyond the Medellín Lottery, the game Raspa&Listo, available throughout the Colombian territory, has been operational in the country for three years this November. Since 2021, the game has contributed a total of COP130.910m (USD29.7m) to the health funds, resources that have allowed more than 105,000 Colombians of limited resources to receive care.

Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos, said: “We are celebrating the third anniversary of Raspa&Listo, a game that, since its creation, has reported sales exceeding COP1.5 trillion (USD341m), which consolidates the incentive as one of the favorites among Colombians”.

And he added: “For that reason, we are working in coordination with the operators to make the product even more attractive and, in this way, continue increasing sales and transfers throughout the national territory”.
