The Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), reported that its system detected multiple unauthorized bets.
Since the names of the companies involved have not been disclosed, it is unclear whether the violations were committed by operators, suppliers, or other related businesses.
A total of 7 matches were flagged, as these matches involved young players and "events" in betting, such as red cards or corners. These matches were held worldwide during the 2023/24 season.
A spokesperson for the KSA stated: "The parties involved have been ordered to cease providing prohibited gambling services. Additionally, all providers who failed to report unauthorized gambling services have received warnings that they must be vigilant about such errors and report any incidents to the Saudi Arabian National Gambling Authority."
It is important to note that the Netherlands restricts certain gambling markets, such as matches involving players under the age of 21 and players who receive red or yellow cards, due to the higher risk of manipulation in these matches.
The KSA National Sports Association will check whether the parties have suspended unauthorized betting, and if they fail to resolve the issue later, sanctions will be imposed.
At the beginning of last month, the KSA Sports Association intervened in several sponsorship violations, many of which involved sports events.
