According to the Treasury, among the electronic devices and other items seized and subsequently scrapped were 679 slot machines, which operated without authorization in grocery stores, casinos, and sports betting shops. Also, 430 lottery ticket printers, 47 verifone terminals, and 162 monitors.
The Deputy Director of Casinos and Gambling, Manuel Rondón, explained to the media that the operations are carried out nationwide, "as part of a comprehensive policy of persecution against businesses and individuals who are not authorized to market gambling games."
And he added: "With these actions, we seek not only to comply with Law 494-06 and its regulations, but also, to protect legal operators who comply with the tax authorities. Moreover, we want to prevent minors from accessing these machines and promote a safe, transparent, and legitimate gaming environment for all citizens."

The official highlighted that, so far this year, 3,085 devices have been disabled, reaffirming the Ministry's intention to ensure respect for regulations, protect citizens, and promote responsibility in gambling activities.
Finally, Rondón detailed that from the year 2020 to date, approximately 15,000 devices and apparatuses have been destroyed, representing a "significant advance in the fight against illicit activities in the sector" and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to "eradicate this practice, to contribute to a sustainable and effective long-term solution."
