Altenar has obtained a license from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB), marking its official entry into the regulated South African market.
The license allows Altenar to operate as a registered national manufacturer, providing sports betting solutions to local operators in the region.
This approval was granted after an extensive application process, which required Altenar to complete compliance checks and provide detailed documentation to prove its operational suitability. This move highlights Altenar's increasing focus on expanding into regulated markets, especially in Africa.
Altenar's Sales Director Sam Hill stated: "Altenar is delighted to have the license to provide sports betting solutions in South Africa. This is another significant step we are taking globally, and it is a key target market for further establishing our product."
It is noteworthy that Hill also pointed out that Altenar's sports betting features, including its flexible user interface and localized sports products like football and racing, are very well-suited for the South African betting market.
In December 2024, Altenar will establish a partnership with BetStarters to integrate its sports betting solutions into Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Earlier this year, the company obtained a B2B license in Greece and expanded its business in Georgia in collaboration with Ambassadoribet.
With a well-established regulatory framework and increasing demand for betting solutions, South Africa represents a strategic opportunity for Altenar.
