After the dissolution of the Gambling and Lottery Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (CRGL), Ukraine will establish a new gambling regulatory authority.
This new agency will replace the CRGL and is planned to be established in April. It will also set up a department responsible for overseeing gambling and lottery policies, and will take measures to help restrict access to illegal gambling websites and mobile applications.
This is part of a bill signed by Ukrainian President Zelensky aimed at combating gambling addiction and helping to oversee gambling and lottery activities in the region.
It is worth noting that last month, the head of Ukraine's CRGL, Ivan Rudyi, was detained for alleged connections with Russian online casinos.
In addition, gambling advertisements are banned, except for those on television and radio at night, advertisements in media for people over 21, or advertisements on platforms and search engines targeting an audience over 21.
In October, the Ukrainian Gambling Commission (UGC) called on Google to reconsider its policy of blocking all gambling advertisements from licensed operators in Ukraine.
