For the time being, the new system will be enabled on a trial basis and has limitations to prevent problematic gambling.
Argentina.- The Provincial Institute of Games and Casinos (IPJyC Mendoza) has implemented, starting this month, the use of debit cards at the Casino de Mendoza venues, operated by the provincial government.
According to the authorities, for now, the new system is in a trial period and can be canceled if it does not meet player protection standards. Additionally, the measure was implemented with limitations for the prevention of problematic gambling.
The new modality allows users to acquire credit at the casino cashier using their debit card, without the need to carry cash. Once the transaction is completed, the credit is loaded onto an internal voucher, which can be used at various gaming machines.
The modernization process began in December 2024 with a trial period, whose positive evaluation allowed the definitive implementation of the system in January 2025, detailed by the regulatory body to the local media Mendoza Post.
According to the IPJyC, this update responds to the need to adapt the casino to the new electronic payment habits and ensure an experience in line with current technological trends. Additionally, they assured the Mendoza media that the use of debit cards complies with the commercial standards of ARCA (formerly AFIP), applicable throughout the country.

“Thanks to this innovation, customers can manage their funds directly at the casino, without the need to resort to external ATMs. Transactions are concentrated in the cashier area, where credits are loaded onto reusable vouchers, adapting the system to the current preferences and needs of users,” explained the provincial gambling regulatory body.
